This year's event will celebrate the rich history and legends of Tamworth and the wider Mercian region, including the story of Princess Osyth, who according to local tradition fled a political marriage and sought sanctuary in a religious community. Her story, together with the Viking and Anglo-Saxon heritage of Tamworth, will form part of the Festival's historical interpretation, living history displays and public performances.
